Factory Customized Black Border Glass Panel Silk Screen For Display Touch Screen Glass

PRODUCT DETAILS

VATTI manufactures black border tempered glass through integrated glass cutting, edge processing, screen printing, and thermal tempering. We produce the glass according to customer drawings and specifications, including overall dimensions, border width, printing layout, openings, corner geometry, and other assembly-critical details.

Black Border as a Functional Design Element

The black border serves a functional role within the finished device. It establishes a defined visual boundary around the display or control area while covering components and structural areas that should remain hidden.

The printed area can cover:

· Adhesive bonding zones

· Housing edges

· Internal components

· Mounting areas

· Structural gaps

· Non-display areas surrounding the screen

The border is produced as a continuous frame or customized graphic according to the device structure. Width, position, and coverage are specified directly from the product layout. For border glass, appearance and dimensional accuracy work together. A consistent printed border gives the panel a defined visual edge while maintaining the required relationship with the display and surrounding housing.

Precision Border-to-Display Alignment

A black border has to meet the visual requirements of the display, not simply surround the glass edge. Its inner boundary defines the visible screen area, so even a small registration error can change the apparent screen position or create uneven margins.

VATTI establishes the printing position from defined reference dimensions on the glass and display layout. The key controls include:

· Visible display area

· Border width and inner edge position

· Distance from the glass edge

· Corner transition

· Sensor and camera windows

· Indicator openings

· Mounting features

· Required transparent areas

For asymmetric designs, each side of the glass border can be specified independently. The printing artwork is checked against the finished glass dimensions to maintain the required relationship between the black printed area and the display.

Consistent Screen Printing, Built for Production

Screen printing determines the appearance and surface finish of the black border. Production quality depends on controlled ink application, screen condition, printing parameters, drying or firing conditions, and accurate registration.

VATTI uses silk screen glass printing to apply black patterns and borders according to approved artwork. Production controls cover:

· Ink coverage

· Color specification

· Print registration

· Border definition

· Pattern details

· Print tolerance

· Surface cleanliness

· Printing side

For high-temperature screen printing, ceramic ink is applied before thermal tempering. The ink is fired during the high-temperature process and forms a durable printed layer on the glass surface.

As an electrical screen printing glass panel factory, VATTI integrates screen printing with glass cutting, edge processing, and tempering, allowing the complete tempered glass black border component to be manufactured under one production system.

Tempered Performance for Device Integration

After the required cutting, edge processing, and printing stages, the glass undergoes thermal tempering. Controlled heating followed by rapid cooling creates compressive stress in the glass surface and increases its mechanical strength.

Black border tempered glass provides the mechanical and thermal performance required for many electronic and appliance applications, including:

· Increased mechanical strength

· Improved impact resistance

· Improved resistance to thermal stress

· Safety characteristics of thermally tempered glass

Glass thickness and tempering parameters are specified according to panel dimensions, geometry, openings, installation conditions, and operating requirements. These factors determine the appropriate tempering specification for the finished component.

Engineered Around Your Complete Device Layout

A glass panel must match the complete device assembly. Its outline, display area, printed border, openings, and mounting features need to work together from the beginning of the design.

VATTI evaluates the glass according to the complete component layout:

Glass outline → display area → printed border → functional openings → assembly requirements

Critical relationships include the distance between holes and glass edges, the clearance around sensor openings, the position of the black printed area, and the dimensions of the visible display window. This drawing-based approach gives manufacturers a clear production reference before mass manufacturing begins and reduces dimensional uncertainty during assembly.

Quality Control at Every Stage

Quality control covers both the glass substrate and the printed border. Each critical characteristic is checked against the approved specification.

Inspection includes:

· Length, width, and thickness

· Hole and cutout dimensions

· Corner and edge condition

· Glass flatness

· Border position

· Printing coverage and appearance

· Ink adhesion where specified

· Surface defects

· Tempered-glass particle characteristics

· Final packaging condition

For repeat production, the approved drawing, printing artwork, material specification, processing requirements, and inspection criteria remain the production reference. This provides consistent control across subsequent batches.

FAQ

Does the black border affect the visible display area?

No. The black border is positioned outside the defined viewing area. Its inner edge is specified according to the display dimensions so the required active or visible screen area remains unobstructed.

Can the black border width be different on each side?

Yes. The top, bottom, left, and right borders can have different widths. This is useful for displays with asymmetrical housings, control interfaces, sensors, cameras, or other components positioned around the screen.

Can holes be located inside or close to the black border?

Yes. Drilled holes and cutouts can be incorporated into the glass layout while the black printed area is positioned around them. Hole diameter, location, edge distance, and printing clearance must be defined in the technical drawing.

Does screen printing take place before or after glass tempering?

For high-temperature ceramic screen printing, the printing process takes place before thermal tempering. The subsequent tempering process creates the required glass strength while firing the ceramic ink onto the glass surface.

Can the border design be changed after sampling?

Yes, before mass production the artwork or dimensions can be revised according to the approved engineering requirements. The final drawing and printing artwork should be confirmed before production release.
