Silk Screen Tempered Glass Panel

PRODUCT DETAILS

Why Glass Matters in Electronic Panels

Glass is a functional front-panel material for electronic equipment, providing a smooth, durable, and visually clean surface between the internal components and the user. It protects the display or control interface while maintaining the appearance and usability of the finished device.

Its surface quality is particularly important for electronic panels. A flat and uniform glass surface supports clear display visibility and provides a consistent foundation for touch interfaces, indicators, controls, and other front-facing functions. The glass can also be processed into different sizes, shapes, thicknesses, edges, holes, and cut-outs to suit the physical structure of the equipment.

Tempering further enhances the mechanical performance of the glass by creating compressive stress at the surface. This increases its strength and improves its resistance to mechanical impact and thermal stress, making tempered glass suitable for electronic panels exposed to regular handling and operating temperature changes.

For manufacturers, this makes glass a practical material for display covers, control panels, touch interfaces, instrument panels, and appliance interfaces. The glass provides the physical surface and mechanical foundation, while additional processing can adapt it to the specific requirements of the finished electronic product.

Silk Screen Design for the Electronic Panel

Silk screen printing transforms the glass surface into an integrated visual and functional design element. Instead of leaving the entire panel transparent, selected areas can be printed with controlled colors, borders, graphics, symbols, or branding to create the intended front-panel appearance.

VATTI supports customized screen printing for:

· Black or colored borders around display and viewing areas

· Logos and brand marks for product identification

· Symbols and icons for buttons, controls, and indicators

· Solid-color areas for concealing selected components behind the glass

· Graphic patterns for decorative or interface-oriented designs

· Printed markings for operating instructions or functional zones

· Custom printed openings and layouts coordinated with the panel design

Printing Layout & Functional Areas

The printed pattern is developed around the actual electronic interface. Border dimensions, viewing windows, symbols, and graphic elements can be positioned according to the approved artwork or technical drawing.

For display and touchscreen panels, the printed area can be arranged around the visible display region and functional interface, while printed markings can be positioned to correspond with controls, indicators, or other operating elements.

Color, Coverage & Visual Consistency

Screen printing can be specified in different colors and coverage levels according to the product design. The printing artwork defines the required pattern, dimensions, orientation, and color reference, providing a consistent visual standard for production.

The selected printing system and processing sequence depend on the glass substrate, ink characteristics, printing design, and required application performance. VATTI evaluates these factors together to establish a suitable screen-printing process for the finished panel.

Built for Displays, Touch & Controls

Silk Screen Tempered Glass Panel can be configured for different types of electronic interfaces.

Display Cover Panels

Printed borders can define the visible display area and conceal selected components behind the glass. The opening and printed area can be developed around the actual display dimensions.

Touchscreen Interfaces

For touchscreen applications, the glass dimensions and printed border need to correspond with the touch module and active sensing area. Printing can be positioned outside the active region according to the assembly design.

Control Panels

Printed symbols, markings, and graphic areas can be incorporated into control interfaces for buttons, switches, indicators, and other operating zones.

Electronic Equipment

Custom glass panels can also be manufactured for instrument panels, control equipment, measuring devices, payment terminals, and other electronic products requiring a precisely processed front glass.

Household Appliances

Screen-printed tempered glass is also suitable for selected appliance applications, including control panels and decorative front surfaces where appearance, cleanability, and mechanical performance are important.

Types of Silk Screen Printing Glass

The printing process is selected according to the required production sequence and application.

High-Temperature Screen Printing Glass

High-temperature screen printing uses inks formulated for elevated-temperature processing. The glass is printed and subsequently subjected to the required thermal processing and tempering sequence.

When the ink, glass substrate, printing parameters, and thermal process are properly matched, the printed layer can achieve strong adhesion and durable visual performance.

This process is commonly considered for applications where the printed surface needs to withstand demanding handling and service conditions.

Low-Temperature Screen Printing Glass

Low-temperature screen printing uses a lower-temperature curing system and is commonly used for electronic products.

The printing is generally performed after the glass has undergone tempering, followed by controlled curing of the printing ink. The ink system and curing conditions need to be selected according to the required adhesion, appearance, and application environment.

Process Selection Matters

There is no single printing process suitable for every application. The appropriate route depends on factors such as:

· Glass type and thickness

· Printing color and coverage

· Graphic complexity

· Tempering sequence

· Required surface durability

· Application environment

VATTI can review these parameters before production and recommend a suitable processing route for the specified panel.

Installation & Handling Guidelines

A screen-printed glass panel requires attention to more than basic glass handling. The printed surface, processed edges, holes, and mounting points can all affect the final appearance and service performance of the assembled panel.

Keep Adhesive Away from the Printed Area Unless Designed for Bonding

If the panel is installed with adhesive, do not allow adhesive to spread into visible printed areas unless the printing system and adhesive have been specifically validated together. Adhesive contact can alter the appearance of the printed surface and may create visible marks around the display window.

Do Not Clamp Directly Against Printed Borders

For framed installations, the clamping structure should be designed around the glass dimensions and tolerance. Excessive pressure directly against a printed border can create uneven contact or place unnecessary stress on the glass.

Avoid Point Contact Between Glass and Metal Components

When the glass is installed inside a metal frame or housing, rigid metal-to-glass contact should be avoided unless specifically designed for it. A suitable gasket, spacer, or mounting interface can help control contact and accommodate normal assembly tolerances.

Validate the Complete Assembly Before Mass Production

For a new product, the glass should be evaluated together with the frame, adhesive, gasket, display module, touch sensor, fasteners, and cleaning process. A glass panel that meets its individual specification still needs to be validated within the complete assembly.

Packaging & Shipping

Reliable packaging is essential for protecting finished glass panels during handling, loading, and long-distance transportation. VATTI can use a multi-layer protective packaging structure according to the panel dimensions, quantity, processing details, and shipping method.

A typical export packing configuration may include:

· Protective film where appropriate

· Kraft paper or suitable interlayer protection

· EPE or other cushioning material

· Separation between individual glass pieces

· Reinforced export-standard wooden cases

The packaging method is adjusted according to the size and geometry of the glass to reduce movement, surface contact, edge impact, and transportation damage.

For samples and small orders, express or air shipping can be considered. Larger production orders are generally arranged by sea or overland transportation according to destination, quantity, and delivery requirements.

The standard production lead time is generally 15–20 days, subject to glass specifications, printing process, order quantity, and production schedule.

FAQ

Can the glass include a logo or product symbols?

Yes. Logos, symbols, icons, markings, and other defined graphic elements can be incorporated into the screen-printing artwork.

How should I provide the printing artwork?

A dimensioned CAD drawing or high-resolution artwork is preferred. The information should include the overall glass dimensions, printing dimensions, visible area, holes, cut-outs, orientation, tolerances, and color requirements.

Can I approve a sample before placing a mass-production order?

Yes. Samples or first articles can be produced to verify dimensions, printing appearance, and other agreed requirements before mass production.

Can the glass be supplied with a specific surface appearance, such as a glossy or matte finish?

Yes. The surface appearance can be specified according to the application requirements. If a particular visual effect is required, providing a physical sample, reference glass, or defined surface specification helps ensure that the required appearance is clearly established before production.

What should we test before approving the glass for our finished product?

For a new application, it is useful to evaluate the glass as part of the complete device rather than testing the glass alone. Depending on the product, validation may include display visibility, touch response, assembly fit, printed appearance, cleaning compatibility, thermal exposure, and repeated handling. The specific test conditions should be based on the actual operating environment and the equipment manufacturer's requirements.

What certifications or compliance documents are available for the glass panels?

VATTI can provide relevant certification or compliance documentation according to the product specification and market requirements. Available documentation may include CE, CCC, and ISO 9001-related quality documentation, while additional requirements can be reviewed according to the customer's application and destination market.
